Hypersonic vehicle
Hypersonic vehicles, which can allow users to travel extremely large distances rapidly, are being actively researched worldwide. A waverider is one of the hypersonic vehicle concepts characterized by an attached shockwave along its leading edge. When designing the waverider, an inverse design method is widely used. However, owing to the inherent problems of the inverse design method, the waverider has difficulty in applying to the existing aircraft system. To cope with the issue, a direct design procedure was developed. The figures below show the design flowchart and example design results.
